Shopify B2B, finished.

Approve wholesale buyers in one screen, give them a quick order form at their own prices, and see which company gets which catalog. B2B Desk builds on native Shopify B2B for Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus.

Where native B2B stops

Native B2B leaves three jobs on your desk

Shopify now includes companies, catalogs, payment terms and a B2B checkout on Basic, Grow and Advanced. Approving buyers, taking bulk orders and keeping prices straight are still manual work.

  1. 01

    Wholesale requests slip through

Shopify Forms creates a company for every request before anyone reviews it. On a store open only to B2B customers, logged-out buyers can't reach the form at all.

“I found a wholesaler request FOUR MONTHS after they'd tried to reach out.”

  2. 02

Reorders happen one product at a time

Shopify's quick order list lives on the product page. A café restocking 40 different items opens 40 product pages.

“…there isn't currently a native Online Store feature.”

  3. 03

    Three catalogs and no map

Basic, Grow and Advanced allow three active B2B catalogs, assigned through markets. No single screen shows which company location ends up with which prices.

“The 3-catalog limit is the biggest barrier.”

1Wholesale applications

Approve wholesale applications in one screen

Buyers apply on your store or on a hosted page. You open the application, pick a preset and click Approve. B2B Desk creates the company, location and contact in Shopify and sets their payment terms, tax, role and pricing in the same step.

  • Nothing is created in Shopify until you approve, so a declined applicant leaves no company behind.
  • Possible duplicates are flagged before you decide: a company with the same name, a customer with the same email, or an earlier application with the same domain or tax ID.
  • Add an applicant to an existing company as a new contact, or attach the customer account they already have.
  • If Shopify stops mid-approval, Retry remaining steps finishes the job without creating a second company.

An application form you design

Start from 13 standard fields and add up to 20 of your own in 12 types. Ask for a business email, check formats like GB#########, and collect resale certificates as PDF, JPG or PNG. Preview the form on desktop and phone before you save.

A hosted page for B2B-only stores

If logged-out visitors can't see your store, share a hosted application page instead. It works without a login or JavaScript.

Ask for the missing document

Request more information and the applicant gets a private upload link that works for 14 days. The application returns to your queue when they upload.

Approve trusted buyers automatically

Rules check email domain, billing country, tax ID, expected monthly volume and answers to your own questions. The first rule that matches approves with a preset, sends the application to a reviewer or declines it. Test a rule against your last 25 applications before you switch it on.

Alerts in email or Slack

Notify up to 10 staff emails, a Slack channel or a webhook for each application, or once a day as a digest.

Emails applicants can act on

Edit the received, needs info, approved and declined emails with merge fields. The approval email explains how to sign in with a one-time code.

Shopify Flow triggers

Start a Flow workflow when an application is submitted, approved or declined. Approvals pass the new company, location and contact IDs.

2Quick order

A bulk order form at each buyer's own prices

Add the Order Pad block to a page or collection. Signed-in buyers see your products in one list at their company's prices, fill in quantities and add everything to the cart at once.

  • Prices from Shopify

Unit prices and volume pricing are rendered by Shopify for the buyer's company location. The pad never calculates a price of its own.

  • Rules on every row

Minimums, maximums and steps show inline. A quantity that breaks a rule snaps to a valid one before it reaches the cart.

  • Paste SKUs or upload a CSV

Buyers paste SKU and quantity lines or drop in a spreadsheet. SKUs that aren't found are listed back.

  • Saved lists

Buyers save the lists they reorder for each company location and load them next time.

  • Everything to the cart at once

Add all to cart sends every line in one request. If Shopify turns down a line, the valid ones still go in.

  • Search, filter and sort

Find items by title, SKU or barcode, filter by vendor or product type, and sort by price.

A wholesale bar across your store

Visitors see a link to apply for a wholesale account. Signed-in buyers see their company name and a link to quick order. It holds its own space, so nothing on the page jumps.

  • 6 KB of JavaScript for the whole Order Pad, gzipped
  • 1 request to add the full list to the cart
  • 500 lines in each saved list

3Catalogs and pricing

See which company gets which price

Basic, Grow and Advanced plans get three B2B catalogs, assigned through markets. The Catalogs page shows how your three slots are used and which market, catalog and payment terms every company location ends up with. On Plus, you can also assign catalogs to locations directly.

  • Pricing warnings

Flags locations in no B2B market, markets without a catalog, and locations in two markets, with the catalog that wins.

  • Bulk moves with undo

Move up to 250 locations to another market, or change their payment terms and tax, with a before-and-after preview. Undo within 24 hours.

  • Price check

See what one buyer pays for one product, which catalog sets the price, and how far it is from retail.

  • CSV export

Export every location with its price tier, payment terms, tax setting and last order.

How it's built

Your wholesale data stays in Shopify

Plenty of wholesale apps still manage buyers and prices with customer tags, a workaround from the years when native B2B was Plus-only. B2B Desk works with Shopify's own companies, catalogs, markets and payment terms, so checkout, reports and your other apps all see the same records.

  • Real Shopify records

Each approval creates a company, location and contact you can open in the Shopify admin.

  • Stored in your store

Applications, presets, rules and saved lists are metaobjects in your Shopify store. Documents go to your Shopify Files.

  • Theme app blocks

Add the form, Order Pad and wholesale bar in the theme editor. B2B Desk never edits your theme's code.

  • Light on your storefront

The Order Pad script is about 6 KB gzipped and the form's is about 3 KB. The form works without JavaScript.

  • Private by default

Staff alerts carry the company name and a link, not the applicant's contact details. Decided applications are deleted after 12 months.

  • A clean uninstall

Companies, contacts, catalogs and payment terms stay in Shopify. B2B Desk deletes its own data, so export applications to CSV first.

FAQ

Questions merchants ask

Step-by-step guides for every part of B2B Desk are in the help center. New to native B2B? Shopify's guide to B2B features by plan lists what each plan includes.

Do I need Shopify Plus?

No. B2B Desk works with native B2B on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus. On Basic, Grow and Advanced it sets pricing by adding company locations to B2B markets, the way Shopify does on those plans. On Plus it can also assign catalogs to locations directly.

Does B2B Desk replace Shopify's B2B features?

No. It creates and updates Shopify's own companies, locations and contacts, and uses your catalogs, B2B markets and payment terms. Checkout, net terms and wholesale prices stay native.

Can buyers apply if my store is open only to B2B customers?

Yes. Share the hosted application page. It's a public link, so logged-out buyers can apply even when your storefront asks them to sign in.

Will the Order Pad show the right wholesale prices?

Yes. Prices, quantity rules and volume pricing are rendered by Shopify for the signed-in buyer's company location, so the Order Pad shows the same unit prices as your product pages.

Does it get around the three-catalog limit?

No, Shopify sets that limit. B2B Desk shows how your three slots are used and which locations get each catalog, and moves locations between B2B markets in bulk, so the catalogs you have reach the right buyers.

Can I approve some applications automatically?

Yes. Rules check email domain, billing country, whether a tax ID was given, expected monthly volume and answers to your own questions. The first matching rule approves with a preset, sends the application to a reviewer or declines it. If the applicant might already be a company in Shopify, an approve rule hands it to a reviewer instead.

Where is applicant data stored?

In your Shopify store. Applications are app-owned metaobjects and uploaded documents go to your Shopify Files. Staff alerts include only the company name and a link. Approved, declined and spam applications are deleted 12 months after the decision.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Your companies, contacts, catalogs and payment terms stay in Shopify. B2B Desk deletes its own data, including applications and saved order lists, so export your applications to CSV first if you want a copy.

Does it work with Shopify Flow?

Yes. B2B Desk sends Flow triggers when an application is submitted, approved or declined. The approved trigger includes the new company, location and contact IDs.

Which themes does it work with?

Themes that support app blocks, which includes Online Store 2.0 themes. You add the application form and Order Pad as blocks, and turn on the wholesale bar as an app embed, in the theme editor.
